'ComForcare' relieves pressure of caregiving

ComForcare provides quality healthcare.

An Oahu business seeks to provide quality care for clients and relieve some of the pressures of caregiving. ComForcare provides non-medical at-home care such as meal preparation, medication reminders, companionship, bathing, transportation to social events or doctor visits, grocery shopping and any other errands.
Owner Lita Peeters, a physical therapist with years of long-term care experience, says ComForcare is different from other home care agencies.
"We offer a medical alert system which complements our home care services," she says. "This is a good option for those who live alone, don't need 24-hour care but may be afraid of having an accident and not be able to get emergency services right away."
Peeters says Hawaii's family-oriented culture sometimes prevents folks from seeking outside help. "People who try our services for a few hours a week end up asking for more hours," she explains. "They realize that even a few hours of relief each week allows them to spend more quality time with their mom or dad instead of being bogged down by chores and errands."
Although most ComForcare clients are seniors, the company recently launched a "new mom" program designed to help women who have recently given birth.
"We serve the disabled, and anyone who has just undergone surgery or is in any way incapacitated and who lacks a caregiver," Peeters says. "Anybody who needs help can call us."
All of ComForcare's employees are meticulously screened, bonded and insured. ComForcare will coordinate payment with third-party insurance payors when available. ComForcare is available throughout Oahu. For more information, call 593-CARE or 593-2273.
