| Hot stone therapy provides many healing benefits. |
Hot Stone Massage has been getting its fair share of press these days. Although hot stone therapy and variations of it have been around for thousands of years, many people still opt for more traditional forms of massage such as Swedish or Shiatsu.
Thanks to the oral traditions of many Asian and Polynesian cultures, stone healing rituals are still with us today. There are volumes of research concerning the therapeutic value of heat and cold applications on the body, including Jacuzzi, steam and sauna. We now understand that by placing heated or chilled stones on specific acupressure and Chakra points, we can ease mental stress, increase circulation, improve immune function and rejuvenate fatigued muscles.
Hot stones help the body attain a heightened state of relaxation. The result is an often deeper and more effective massage. Different energies within the stones help bring about spiritual healing, balance and inner peace.
Serenity Spa embraces these concepts through "Hot Lava Rock" massage. Heated basalt stones are placed on specific points of the body until the desired state of relaxation is achieved. The stones, along with natural Hawaiian nut oils, are then used to massage the body. The oils provide an additional treatment nourishing and balancing the skin. You'll be amazed at how good you'll feel inside and out. Serenity Spa's "Eurostone Anti-Stress Aromatherapy Facial" employs similar techniques for the most unique facial experience available in Hawaii.
At Serenity Spa, we seek to help you reach a sense of inner balance, well being and tranquility. Please call 926-2882 for more information or to make an appointment. Our complete menu is available at www.serenityspahawaii.com.
